Due to the ever-increasing risk of misuse of personal data across the internet, we have decided to introduce multi-factor authentication (MFA) for you to log in to Benefit Plus.

What is multifactor authentication?

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security process that requires two or more independent ways of verifying a user's identity before allowing them access to an account.

Why do I need to use Google or Microsoft Authenticator?

Using authenticator greatly increases the security of your account by adding an extra layer of protection next to your password.

How does Google and Microsoft Authenticator work?

Authenticator generates time-limited one-time codes that you enter at login along with your password.

How do I set up Google or Microsoft Authenticator for my account?

  1. Download one of the authentication apps to your Android or iOS device. If you already have one of the apps installed on your mobile, log straight into your Benefit Plus account and follow step 3 of this guide.

2. Log in to your Benefit Plus account with your login and password.

3. Scan the QR code displayed on the screen using the app of your choice. If scanning the QR code doesn't work, enter the pairing key in the authenticator.

  1. Check the "I confirm that I have an authentication app paired with my Benefit Plus account" box. Confirm the entire action with the CONFIRM button.

  2. At this point, you have paired the Benefit Plus app with the selected authenticator.

  3. To log in to the app, return to the authenticator and enter the authenticator-generated authentication code into the Benefit Plus app and confirm LOG IN. At this point, you have successfully logged into your benefit account.

Do I have to use authenticator every time I log in?

Yes, you will need to use your chosen authenticator each time you log in to the Benefit Plus web app to ensure maximum security for your account.

Can I set up an authenticator from the Benefit Plus mobile app?

No, the setup needs to be done from the computer.

What if I lose my phone?

If you lose your phone, please contact our customer support at info@benefitplus.sk. We can help you verify your identity and deactivate your old multi-factor authentication so you can set up a new one.

What if I change my phone?

Before replacing your device, reset the link in your Benefit Plus account and then set it up again on the new device. If you do not do this, contact our customer support at info@benefitplus.sk.

Can I use authenticator on multiple devices?

Authenticator supports synchronisation between devices as long as the user is logged in with their Microsoft or Google account.

For more information about the authenticator features, please visit the official websites - Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator.

I can see in authenticator that I already have an account paired, but the code doesn't work

If you have reset your account pairing or had it reset by Benefit Plus staff, please delete the previous pairing from your authenticator. Then perform the pairing again from the beginning.

What to do if the verification code does not work?

Make sure you have the correct time on your device where the selected authenticator is installed. The app generates codes based on time, so incorrect time can cause invalid codes. Try synchronizing the time and entering the code again.

Why do I need to use multifactor authentication?

Increase the security of your account

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of protection next to your password. Even if someone finds out your password, they can't get into your account without access to your second factor, usually your mobile phone. This greatly reduces the risk of unauthorized access and potential theft of your funds or personal information.

Protecting your funds

Your Benefit Plus account contains non-financial funds- benefit points. MFA provides additional protection against theft and fraud, helping you protect these funds.

Reduces the risk of phishing

Even if you were tricked into inadvertently providing your password, an attacker would still need a second factor, which is nearly impossible to obtain without your phone. That said, MFA protects you from one of the most common types of online attacks.

A quick and easy process

Using Google or Microsoft Authenticator is very quick and easy. Once you're set up for the first time, you simply look into the app and enter a six-digit code each time you log in. The whole process takes only a few seconds and greatly increases the security of your account.

The standard in security

Many large online services and financial institutions now use MFA as a standard security measure. By adhering to this standard, we ensure that your data is protected according to the best available practices.

Preventing potential problems

Preventing security incidents is always easier and less stressful than dealing with the aftermath. MFA is a preventative measure that can prevent much bigger problems and inconveniences in the future.

Accountability and credibility

By implementing MFA, we are showing that we take security seriously, and that we care about protecting your data and benefit points. This is how we build your trust and ensure that using our Benefit Plus app is safe for you.

If you have any other questions about MFA enrolment, we're happy to help at info@benefitplus.sk or by phone on +421 220 862 220.

We understand that introducing an extra step to the enrolment process can be initially inconvenient, but we believe the benefits and increased security are worth it. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in ensuring the security of your data.

We are thinking of you.
